[July 12 Release] Thanks and Update Regarding the Approach and Passage of Typhoon No. 9
We sincerely thank all the guests who stayed with us and those who had planned to visit Ishigaki Island for their great cooperation during the approach and passage of Typhoon No. 9 on July 10th and 11th.
At our hotel, as a disaster mitigation measure to minimize damage to people and facilities, we asked guests scheduled to stay from the 8th to the 12th to change their travel plans in advance. Additionally, from 6:00 PM on the 10th to the end of the 11th, we suspended front desk operations on the first floor and moved to the third floor to operate on a reduced scale.
Therefore, during the period when the front desk was closed, we were unable to respond to inquiries over the phone, and we deeply apologize for the great inconvenience and trouble this caused everyone.
Also, prioritizing safety, we requested changes to evacuations outside the island and travel plans. Despite the sudden notice, thanks to everyone responding quickly and warmly, there were zero injuries to people, and the damage to hotel facilities was minimized, allowing us to get through this situation.
Additionally, for customers who had to stay due to business circumstances or the impact of flights, we provided water and light refreshments that were prepared as disaster stockpiles. We were also able to offer the function of hotel evacuation for family members residing on the island.
Without everyone’s understanding and warm cooperation, we would not have been able to ensure this safety. All of our staff are filled with gratitude. Thank you very much.
In addition, on the 12th and 13th, there will be recovery work such as checking the damage to guest rooms and facilities, as well as cleaning tasks. Also, since the weather will be windy until the 13th and the island has not yet recovered, our hotel has already decided to offer free cancellations to guests who had reservations to stay on the 13th. (This is a special measure implemented independently by the hotel, not a flight cancellation.)
Although it is modest, we have issued 5,000 yen and 10,000 yen coupons (each with applicable conditions) for stays from July 12 to August 31, available for the first 150 rooms and 75 rooms, respectively. Please feel free to use them.
Ishigaki Island will once again regain its beautiful appearance. We will make thorough preparations so that we can provide everyone with a safe and comfortable trip once more. All of our staff sincerely look forward to the day we can meet you again with smiles.
