Your Gateway
to the Warmth of Akita

Every journey begins with a first encounter—with a place, its people, and its culture. At EN HOTEL Akita, we hope to be more than just a place to stay. We strive to be the gateway through which you first experience the warmth and richness of Akita.

As you step through the entrance and into the lobby, you’ll notice a hand-drawn chalkboard map created by our staff. It highlights local eateries and hidden gems with soft lines and warm colors—offering small discoveries that spark your curiosity. These aren’t places you'll typically find in guidebooks, but spots that truly reflect the soul of the city: a cozy eatery tucked down an alley, a cheerful chef cracking jokes, a bar counter lined with fresh seasonal dishes. Through these, we gently connect you with the real Akita.

Just outside the hotel flows the Asahikawa River, along which lies the historic Kawabata district. Once known for its traditional restaurants and geisha culture, the area still comes alive at night with glowing lanterns and the sounds of cheerful conversation. Shops with hanging noren curtains line the quiet streets, welcoming travelers into the kind of everyday charm only found away from tourist hotspots.

Inside the hotel, each elevator hall features artwork inspired by Akita’s landscapes and traditions—from the cherry trees of Kakunodate to the Kanto Festival and the iconic Namahage. We’ve designed these spaces to help you feel the beauty of Akita’s changing seasons even while indoors.

In the morning, we offer a simple yet heartfelt breakfast featuring local ingredients. It may not be fancy, but it’s filled with the honest flavors of Akita—warm, gentle, and nourishing.

EN HOTEL Akita offers a kind of travel experience that can only be found off the beaten path: a slower rhythm, heartfelt hospitality, and a deep connection to the spirit of place. We hope that your time here lingers softly in your memory, and that this hotel becomes the gateway to a deeper, warmer relationship with Akita.
